Mrs. Depue, a long-time resident of this area, died May 11 at the Palo Alto County Hospital.
Gladys Horton was born Oct. 13, 1897, in Kossuth County, the daughter of George and Anne Wartner Horton. On Sept. 21, 1918 she married James E. Preston in Blue Earth, Minn. He died in 1941. On April 10, 1946, she married Harold Depue in Jackson, Minn. She was a member of the Cylinder Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the Fairfield Farm Bureau Club.
Mrs. Depue is survived by her husband, Harold; six children, Mrs. Theo (Marjorie) Moore of Chicago, Ill., Maurice Preston of Mesa, Ariz., Kenneth Preston of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Robert (Erleen) Williams of Reedsburg, Wisc., Mrs. Bernard (Lavonne) Haack of Cylinder and Richard Preston of Mesa, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; five step children; 15 step grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, one brother, and her first husband, James Preston.
Casket bearers will be Allen Adamson, Clifford Heng, Hans Blass, Wallace Weisbrod, Frank Burgess and Art Bleckwenn.
Mrs. Glen Goddard will be the organist and accompany Lee Laaveg as he sings "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In Times Like These."
