Ann Elizabeth Browning was born to John E. Browning and Maria Antonia Edwards on November 18, 1850 Kemper County, Mississippi. John Browning died in Mississippi in 1851 and Ann and her mother moved to Brazoria County, TX along with her Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Pinckney Ashe Edwards, Pinckney Hasell Ashe and Samuel Douglas Ashe who were sons of Mary Edwards by her first husband. While in Brazoria County, Maria married Redding West Morris. By 1854 both Maria and her mother, Mary were deceased leaving Ann Elizabeth in the custody of her step-father. R. W. Morris moved to the Guadalupe/Wilson County Texas area and reared Ann. It was there that R. W. met the Currie family. In 1857, he married Louisa Melvina Currie. In 1869, Ann married Louisa's brother Joseph Barnabus Currie. They lived in Guadalupe Co. TX until they moved to Concho Co. TX in the late 1870s or early 1880s. Joe and Annie are both buried in the Paint Rock Cemetery.
