Rita C. Berry, 69, of 2104 190th St., Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
She was born April 15, 1941, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Matthew and Marcella (Hennessy) Keenan.
Rita married James Berry on May 5, 1962 in Waukon, Iowa.
She was a member of St. Bridget's Church.
She enjoyed her flowers, was very involved with her church, reading, puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband, James; three sons, Scott (Debbie) Berry of Troy, Mich., Tom (Liz) Berry of Winterset, Iowa and Jason (Sara Broome) Berry of Eau Claire; one daughter, Kim (Brad) Reese of Elk Mound; two brothers, Leo (Kathleen) Keenan of McGregor, Iowa and James (Sandra) Keenan of Lansing, Iowa; one sister, Margaret (Russell) O'Donnell of Elma, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, and Mike Berry and Ella and Cooper Reese.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Patrick, Lawrence and Albert Keenan; and two sisters, Dorothy Manning and Mary Theresa Keenan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at St. Bridget's Church, town of Seymour. Rev. Arul Joseph will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, and until 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family prefers memorials to St. Bridget's Church.
