Died on the 22nd, Joseph BUTRICK from injuries suffered in a car accident in Waterloo. Services in Presbyterian church with Rev. John PATTISON; burial Prospect Hill Cemetery. Survivors: parents Mr & Mrs Charles BUTRICK & 2 little sisters, Gladys & Esther.

Joseph BUTRICK died at Lister hospital on Friday, April 22, from injuries received by a car in Waterloo the previous Tuesday. The little fellow suffered a badly fractured skull. Services at Waterloo on Saturday in the Presbyterian church with Rev. John PATTISON officiating; He is survived by his parents Mr & Mrs Charles BUTRICK and two little sisters, Gladys & Esther.
Burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Forrest MOORE, Russel SHARPE, Charles REYNER & Lawrence MOHATT
In 1932, Frank GELSTON of Elk City wrote a letter to Clarence RECKMEYER of Fremont, NE regarding the cemeteries. (in part) The Old Cemetery seemed to be the burying place for early pioneers going west. I think the land was government land or else owned by speculators and people just got started burying there and kept it up without any restrictions. No records were kept, if the people marked the grave with a stone that was the only record. People just went and dug graves where ever it suited them. Many of the people who had family or friends in the old cemetery had them moved to the new one. There are a few left but no one knows where they are as the stones are broken
