James Chaney Dies Today
James Henry Chaney, 80, 326 Stevenson Street, Florence, died at ECM Hospital this morning at 2:55 o'clock after a lingering illness.
He was a retired farmer and had been living in Florence since 1932, when he moved here from Lawrence County, Ala., where he was born. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Borden Chaney, Florence; two sons, George R. Chaney, Cloverdale, and J.M. Chaney, Florence; a daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Allen, Russellville, Rt. 1; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Cornelius, Florence; and six half-sisters and one half brother; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Wolf Springs Baptist church in Lawrence County. Burial will be in King Cemetery nearby.
Active bearers will be grandsons.
Arrangements by Chisholm Funeral Home, Florence.
