Cheree Noelle Rozell, 15, Akron High School freshman student, died Tuesday at her rural home at Akron following a six-year battle with ependymoma cancer.

Cheree was born April 11, 1986 in Brush to Lloyd Dale and Mary Jane (Rinne) Rozell.

At the age of 9 while attending the third grade, Cheree was rushed to Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. This was her first bout with cancer. She encountered three more sessions of therapy while enduring this illness.

Cheree, though only a young lady, touched many lives during her short time on earth. She attended the Akron Foursquare Church, loved her Lord, and kept a positive attitude as she faced her many sunny and cloudy days.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

In addition to her parents, Dale and Mary Jane Rozell, she is survived by her two sisters; Crystal Evans and April Shook, all of Akron.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Cheree Rozell Scholarship Fund, c/o the Bank of Colorado.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Akron High School Fieldhouse with Rev. Mike Kinney officiating. Interment will follow in the Akron Cemetery with Brenner Funeral Home of Akron in charge of arrangements.
