John William Walker,67, a resident of the community sice 1879, died at his home in Johnstown at 11 p.m., Thursday of a heart aliment. Mr Walker suffered a stroke of paralysis early in June, and had been ill since.
Mr. Walker was born near Nashville, Tenn., Jan 1 1875, and came to Colorado with his parents in 1879. He lived on a farm south of Elwell until 16 years ago when he moved into Johnstown to operate a truck line. On November 13 1893 he was married to Estella Maude Darcy of Platteville, who died in January 1938.
Funeral services were held in Johnstown Colorado and interment was at Longmont, Co.
Bob Westover said that he thought that JW owned a dance hall that burned down in Milliken, Colorado
He was also had a coal hauling business.
John had a homestead in North Park, Gould County, Colorado. He bought a house in Loveland then went to North Park to homestead 1921 or 1922.
No headstone.
