Mary was the daughter of Alexander & Mary W. (Chisenhall) Myatt. She married Elisha Duncan 09 Aug 1849 in Greenville, Bond County, IL.

Obituary:
DUNCAN - In Denver, Sunday, February 21, 1926, Mrs. Mary W. Duncan, Aged 94 years.
Mrs. Duncan, one of the early pioneers, passed away Sunday from injuries received in a fall at her home.
With her husband, Elisha Duncan, and their children, she came to Colorado in 1861 and a year later they bought a ranch seven miles East of Longmont.
Mr. Duncan made his first trip across the plains in 1850, a year after their marriage, and went to California when the gold rush was on. The trip took six months with an ox team.
Two years later he returned to the Illinois home and in 1860 again felt the urge to go west. After spending about six months in Colorado, he returned to Illinois for his family and made a permanent move.
Mrs. Duncan saw strenuous times with the Indians but came safely thru all experiences, and saw her children educated in the state University.
Mrs. Duncan was born in Pocahontas, Bond County, Ill., March 27, 1832, and was married when seventeen years of age.
She is survived by one daughter Mary W. Perkins of Denver; and three sons, Robert A. Duncan of Ward, John T. Duncan of Kremmling, and Attorney Guy Duncan of Denver.
Interment was made in Longmont at Mountain View cemetery.
(Obituary is from the Longmont Ledger, Ledger Publishing Company, Friday, February 26, 1926, Page 5)
