Joe worked as a construction laborer for most of his life. A wonderful tradesman he loved being outdoors and working with his hands. Joe was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #32, Longmont. He enjoyed working in his garden and will be fondly remembered for his wonderful dance skills and dry sense of humor.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son Jeff Cordova; and three brothers Porfilio, Adam, Fermin and Uvaldo Anaya. Surviving are his wife of Longmont; sons Ernie (Diana) Cordova of Sneadsferry, North Carolina; Patrick (Diane) Cordova of San Jose, California; Dean (Linda) Cordova of Longmont; and Andrew (Alejandra) Anaya of Montebello, California; daughters Jane (Raleigh Cross) Garcia of Longmont; Diane (Gilbert) Arizmendi, Milliken, Colorado and Beverly Gonzales of Denver, Colorado; brothers Ernie, Manuel, David and Paul Anaya of the Denver area; sisters Audrey Jones of Denver; Mary Esther Monares of Reno, Nevada; Mary Ann Anaya of Denver and Rosie Torres of Longmont; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, followed by a Vigil Service at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., August 4 at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
