Funeral services for Wanda Lee Patton Stutes Ashe, 67, of Highlands, will be Thursday, August 30, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. in Sterling White Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Carroll Lansford and Rev. Tim Edwards officiating.
Interment will follow in White Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today, August 29, 2001, at the funeral home.
Wanda was born July 17, 1934, in Pruitt, Texas, and passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2001, in Baytown. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church of Baytown. She had served her community in many facets including being a former president of the Highlands P.T.A., Highlands Little League Association, and T.O.P.S., a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a member of Allied Florists of Houston. She loved animals of all types and the joy of her life was in serving and helping other people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Marguerite Patton; and son, Ray Darrell Stutes.
She is survived by her sons; grandchildren; great grandchildren; dearest friends; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to send a heartfelt "thank you" to all the employees of Baytown Nursing Home who took special care of Wanda.
In lieu of normal remembrances, the family requests that memorials be made to the Houston Humane Society, P.O. Box 450528, Houston, TX, 77245. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling White Chapel Funeral Home.
