"Captain Jess Clark, county treasurer and veteran of the Spanish American and World Wars, died yesterday afternoon at his residence on Coit Road, north of the city. His death was ascribed indirectly to influenza and pneumonia which he contacted last December. He had suffered with tuberculor peritanites. He had been ill eight months and had been confined to his home since last May. He is survived by the widow, three daughters, a son and two brothers.

Mr Clark was born in Marshall in 1868. His parents for a short time lived in Cedar Springs, but since 1880 he had been a resident of Kent County."
