James Daniel Huddleston was born at or near Fort Scott, Bourbon county, Kansas. He was the second son of Joel Huddleston and Mona Gray Huddleston, he had two brothers, Amos born 1856 in IL and Frank born 1866 in KS, four sisters, Melissa b 1869, KS, Phebe b 1873, Susie b 1877, Effie b 1883 all in Kansas.
~There is no record showing Jim was married. He was a farmer and usually lived near some of his siblings. In 1932 he lived near Logan, Beaver county, Oklahoma near his brother Amos.
~Percy Huddleston, son of Amos, wrote in his old bible, "Daniel Huddleston was taken sick October 4, 1932 and was taken to the Western State Hospital at Ft. Supply Oct. 5, 1932. He died April 28, 1933 of cerebro-spinal meningitis."
