Marjorie Hempsted White, Okemos, Died February 24, 2013 at the age of 94.

Marjorie was born January 13, 1919 in Fenton, MI to Leslie and Mary Bell (Westfall) Lapham. She was a store owner for many years. She always remembered to send cards to everyone for any occasion and was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, church and writing poetry.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husbands, Ivan Hempsted and John E. White; three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are son, William Hempsted, step-sons Gerald (Gladys) Hempsted, Patrick White and Michael White; two step-daughters Carol (David) George and Christine (Ken) Kmiec; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister Amy (David) Charlton.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI with Rev. Steve Mattson officiating. Interment will be in Reed Cemetery, Laingsburg. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2013, 5-8 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing, Michigan.
