DAYTONA BEACH -- Sara Elizabeth Barbee Hurt, 98, of Flagstone Drive, a clerical worker for the St. Joseph Tablet Factory, died Wednesday at Our Open Arms.
Mrs. Hurt was born in Missouri and moved to this area in 1978 from St. Joseph, Mo. She had been a winter resident here for many years. She also managed an office for Hurt Roofing Co., the family business. She was a member of Wyatt Park Christian Church, where she was active in the choir, Seabreeze United Church, and was a volunteer and member of the YWCA. She enjoyed playing bridge and handcrafts.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Shirley Mercer and Cecile Rice, both of Daytona Beach; and a step granddaughter. Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 524 S. Beach St., Daytona Beach 32114-5066. Haigh-Black, Daytona Beach, is in charge.
