Frances Lorraine Wright, 98, of Taylorville, IL died at 10:54 am Friday, October 15, 2010 at Taylorville Care Center.
She was born May 8, 1912 in Christian County, the daughter of George Thomas and Floy Davis Achenbach. She married Richard A. Wright, Sr. in Springfield and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1980. Frances worked for many years as a cook at Memorial School. She was a lifetime member of the Christian County Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed crocheting fingertip towels. She also spent many hours as a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary delivering mail, magazines, and visiting with patients.
Surviving are two sons: Richard A. Wright, Jr. and wife Christel of Taylorville and David L. Wright and wife Glenda of Mattoon. 2 Grandchildren: Douglas A. Wright and wife Teresa of Taylorville and Andrew L. Wright of Naperville. 2 Great Grandchildren: Rani Wright and Sydney Wright both of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Debra E. Wright, 1 sister, Mary Dodson, and 2 brothers, Gene Achenbach and Clifford Achenbach.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. There will be no visitation. McClure Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
