Mrs. Elizabeth Knott, age 73, died this morning at her home on Ewing Street, following an illness of four months' duration. She was born in Ripley County, Indiana, but had been brought to this city as an infant and had spend her entire life since that time in this community.
She was married on February 20, 1877, to Patrick Knott, who died November 13, 1904.
Surviving children are: Mrs. Emma VonFange of Peru, Indiana; Edward, John, Thomas, Harry, Charles, and Henry Knott, of this county; and Joseph Knott of Marion County, Indiana; three brothers, William Bloom and Fred Bloom of Bartholomew County, Indiana; Ben Bloom of Seymour, Indiana; three sisters, Louise Dettmer and Dora Eddy of Columbus, Indiana; and Sophia Elkins, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Twenty-two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Knott was the daughter of William and Dora Tebby Weir, natives of Germany.
She was one of the best known residents of this vicinity, and leaves a large number of friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
