Mrs. Letha Tozer, 56, former resident of Ash Grove community, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at her home in Granite City, Illinois. Mrs. Tozer was born in Shelby county on December 17, 1897, a daughter of Raymond and Mollie Abercrombie. She united with the Ash Grove Christian Church at the age of 14 years. Later moving her membership to the Christian Church in Granite City, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Wm. B. Tozer on February 27, 1946. She leaves her husband and two step-daughters; four half brothers, Glenn and Everett of Mattoon, Illinois, Otis of Shelbyville, Illinois, Orris of Marion, Illinois; and one step-brother, Kenneth of Steubenville, Ohio. Also two half sisters, Mrs. Thomas Leggitt of Windsor and Mrs. Truman Sterns of Sullivan; a step-sister, Helen Cutler of Beecher City, Illinois. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the Ash Grove church with the Rev. B. J. Steed, pastor in charge. Burial was in Ash Grove Cemetery. Windsor Gazette, 4 Nov 1954
