Noble Fee Hodgen, 88, of rural Frankfort, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at his residence.

Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Boone County, he was the son of Wilbur C. and Georgia O. Aldridge Hodgen. He graduated from Jackson Township High School, Clinton County, in 1940.

On July 12, 1940, he married Mary Eleanor Stern, and she survives.

Mr. Hodgen was a retired farmer. He served as Owen Township trustee in the 1950s and was a Clinton County Commissioner and Clinton County Republican chairman. He also served as state representative in the late 1950s.

He served as deacon and chaired the manse building committee of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church, and later became a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of Beard Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed living on the farm, and built a large pond that he and his family used as a meeting place. He also was an avid sports fan.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Ronald L. (wife Ellen) of Sommerville, Ala., Jack R. (wife: Phyllis) of Frankfort and William Jay (wife: Sandy) of Wolcottville; a daughter, Marilyn J. Minich (husband: David) of Logansport; and a half sister, Bonnie Shoppe of Greenwood.

Also surviving are a son-in-law, Mark Parsons of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hufford Hodgen of Virginia Beach, Va.; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary D. Hodgen; a daughter, Marcia C. Hodgen Parsons; 2 brothers, Jack L. and Rushton O. Hodgen; a half sister, Joan Straw; and 1 grandchild.

Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, Pastor John Everett officiating. Interment at Geetingsville Cemetery.
