MORGANFIELD, Ky . -- Robert Allen Adamson, 81, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at the Methodist Hospital in Union County.

He was a farmer, a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers, and retired from the post office in Morganfield.

He was a World War II Marine veteran.

He was a member of Grove Center Methodist Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Vicki Ricketts, Debbie Hite and Peggy Adamson, all of Morganfield, and Donna Diehl of Uniontown; a son, Bobby of Nortonville; three sisters, Florine Johnson and Dot Timmons, both of Morganfield, and Mae Moore of Evansville; three brothers, Roger "Pud" and Charles, both of Morganfield, and Jack of Sturgis; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Robbie Hite, Holly McGlothin, Jeff Girten, Stacey Lloyd, Jason Adamson and Matt Diehl; and six great-grandchildren.

His wife, Drucilla (Parish), died in 1992.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellow Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home
