From the Hampton Globe, June 5, 1896:
"Mrs. Riley Wright died at her home near Thornton and was buried at Old Chapin Sunday afternoon, May 31st. Deceased's maiden name was Hannah Spaulding and she was born Jan. 30, 1812. In 1838 she was married to Riley Wright, and to them four children were born, three of whom are living. When but 15 yrs. old Miss Spaulding became a member of the Baptist church and remained a devout Christian until her death. The funeral was conducted by Elder B. S. Denny, of this city."
