A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Noeda Chabert Plaisance, 83 a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 4.Burial was in the church Cemetery.
She was the mother of Larry R. Plaisance; sister of Harris Sr., Walter and Leroy Chabert, Isabel Bruce and Dorine Cheramie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwick Plaisance; parents, Wallace and Emelie Guidry Chabert Sr.: a daughter, Lois P. Cheramie; three brothers, Wallace Jr., Luke and Alidor Chabert; and a sister, Alice Chabert. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.

Noeda's mom Emilie 'Eve' Guidry Chabert d. at age 44 . 'Da-Da' being 21 and the oldest daughter assumed the mother figure of the household, lived w/ 'Pa-Pa' and raised all the younger children. Leroy being only 16 months old at the time.
