Funeral Services were held Tuesday at 3:30 pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church for William Columbus Haynes, 81, of Monte Vista Drive, who died Sunday at Kings Mountain Hospital following an illness of five days (Pneumonia & Congestive Heart Failure).

A retired textile worker, Mr. Haynes was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rancie (Ranue Woodsbury) Haynes. His wife was the late Brentie Florence (Weaver) Haynes. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Surviving are five sons, Russell Haynes, Hudson, Earnest Haynes, Landis, Howard Haynes, Georgetown, SC, Roy and Hoe (Hal) Haynes, both of Kings Mountain; four daughters, Mrs. (Alma) Dorus (Dorse) Whiteside, Kings Mountain, Mrs. (Pauline) Clyde Deal (Dill), Gastonia, Mrs. (Maude) Hazel Plyer, Pineville, and Mrs. (Mazelle) C.D. (Jack)Jenkins, Cherryville; two brothers, Charles (Franklin) Haynes, Cherryville, and John (Wesley) Haynes, Reidsville; one sister, Miss Laura (Catherine) Haynes, Vale; 28 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Douglas Fritz, pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
