Charles Henry Chambers, aged 71 years, West Pittsburg, died Sunday at 5:20 a.m. in the New Castle Hospital.
Born in Scott, Depot, W.Va. on January 3, 1880, he was a son of Edward and Cecelia Ellis Chambers. Mr. Chambers, who was retired three years ago, was employed for 50 years by the B. & O. Railroad, having been a telegraph operator.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Luda Chambers; six children, Alfred, Detroit, Mich., Walter, Warren, O., John, Rochester, Pa., Mrs. Evelyn Allen, Moravia, Edward and George, both at home, and 10 grandchildren.
A son, Harold, was killed April 7, 1945, on Luzon while serving his country during World War II.
Rev. Paul Aley will officiate at funeral services on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Marshall funeral home, Wampum. Burial will be in Savannah cemetery.
