Judge J.K. Corey aged 87 died at noon at the residence of his daughter Mrs F.T. Wing 3238 Doane Street. The funeral will be held at the residence Thursday at 9:00 in the morning after which the body will be taken to Crete for burial, which will be in the family lot beside his wife. He had owned his own Insurance Co and was editor of Wilbur Evening News.
James K. Corey died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred J. Wing, in Lincoln the 20th at the advanced age of 87, the deceased was an early settler of Crete, coming there from Wisconsin in 1873 and was in business several years; he filled the office of justice of the peace many years; was county judge from 1880 to 1886, and moved to Wilbur at the time of his election to that office. In Apr, 1886, he established the Wilber Union and conducted that paper until February,1887, when he disposed of the paper and moved to Lincoln. The funeral was held at the residence at 9 a.m. Thursday and the remains taken to Crete for interment in Riverside in the family lot by the side of his wife, who passed away many years ago.
