He was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Vernal to Sylvester " Silver" and Thelma Corless Licht. Lynn married Roena Hatch on Sept. 17, 1956 and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. Lynn had a deep love for his family; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved them very much. Lynn had a special gift for friends — he truly would help anyone at anytime.
He graduated from the Box Elder High Class of 1950; he served his country and was proud to be a veteran of the Korean War. Lynn was no stranger to hard work: At a very young age he worked with his dad and brothers in the logging and sawmill business, helping build several buildings in Daggett and Uintah counties. He drove a water truck for several years, he was a foreman for PW Martin Water Hauling Service for 35 years, and he also worked as shop foreman for 4½ years for Uintah County.
After retiring he loved working in the yard, mowing his lawn and tending his flowers. He loved college basketball; he was always a man with a plan.
He is survived by his wife, Roena; a daughter, Rhonda (Craig) Batty of Vernal; a son, Jeffery Lynn Licht of Evanston, Wyo.; one brother, Lyle Licht of The Colony, Texas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Melvin Licht, Lela Batty, June Licht, Lola Allred and Jeaneen Licht.
Funeral services will be Thurs., Oct. 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Vernal 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, with military honors provided by the American Legion and Utah Army National Guard under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
