John Harris Boward, 71, of 1111 Skymont Road; died Monday November 11, 1991, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Boward was born February 10, 1920, in Augusta County, a son of the late J, Paul and Lucie Riley Boward. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was Traffic Manager for Boward Truck Line Prior to his retirement June 17, 1976. Mr. Boward was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Winifred Miller Boward; 2 daughters, Mrs. Carol Cheek, Durham, N.C. and Mrs. Dianne. Fry, Stuarts Draft; 2 grandchildren; Steven T. Snead and. Marc E. Snead; a sister, Mrs. Margaret DeHart, Franklin, Tenn. and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held, at 11:00 AM Wednesday in Augusta Memorial Park concluded by Rev. J. Jeffrey Butcher.

Memorials may be made to the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, Memorial Trust Fund, 1601 N. Coalter Street, Staunton, Va. 24401.

The family will receive friends at the Hamrick Funeral Home from 7:00 to. 8:00 o'clock this evening.
