CHARLES E. BOONE OSSEO--Charles E. Boone, 91, a retired farmer, died Monday evening at his home at 788 Culbert Road. A lifelong resident of Hillsdale County, Mr. Boone was born in Hillsdale County July 1, 1884, to William and Alice (Hinkle) Boone. He was a life member of the Pittsford Grange, a 7th-Degree member of the National Grange, a member of the Star Lodge, No. 93, F&AM of Osses, past president of the Hillsdale County Fair Association, and was a former member of the Farm Bureau, had been active in the Hillsdale County Cooperative Association and was a former member of the Pittsford School Board.

On July 19, 1915 he was married to Onah Stearns who died in 1916. On Dec 6, 1916, he was married to Hazel A. Phillips who died in 1968.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs Sam (marie) Carter of Hillsdale, Mrs Doris Bigelow of Lansing, Mrs. Donna Redman of Saline and Mrs Ted (Winifred) Gallants of Toledo, Ohio; two sons, Harold J. and Richard, both of Hillsdale; and a brother, Claude of Florida. There are 14 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren who survive. Mr. Boone was preceded in deathg by a sister, a brother, a grandchild and one great-grandchild as well as his two wives.

There is to be a visitation in the Van Horn-Eagle Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic Rites will take place Thursday evening a 1 p.m. in the funeral home. The funeral will be at 1:30 Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Max Allen officiating. Burial is to be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsdale. (MRC obit)
