Ruby DeGraaf-Evans, 67 of Anacortes died Saturday, Aug. 13 in a Sedro-Woolley hospital.
She was born June 10, 1916 in Delhi, Calif. she married John DeGraaf in 1932 and thay lived on Whidbey Island for many years. He died in 1964.
She married Homer C Evans in 1967. He died the following year.
She lived the past 13 years in Anacortes. She was a member of the Anacortes Eagles Auxiliary and the Golden Years Club.
She was active as a volunteer worker at both the Anacortes Senior Center and at an Oak Harbor Thrift Shop.
She is survived by: a son David Degraaf of Oak Harbor; six daughters, Mrs. Shirley Skeers of Mount Vernon; Mildred Jean Lanphear of Anacortes; Mrs. Anita L. Chapman of Edmonds; Loretta M. Rakes of Mosier, Ore.; Ruby M. Allen of Oak Harbor and Gloria A. Britton of Lebanon, Ore; a brother, Everett Deckwa of Oak Harbor; 31 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held graveside Tuesday August 16 at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. Rev. Roland Wuest of Anacortes Lutheran Church officiated. Arrangements were by Bartleson Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor.
Memorials are suggested to the Heart Fund.
