Born in Rising Star, Texas. Worked with her father Floyd D. Clements, Water Well Digger, during her younger years, would even sell eggs on the side of her father's work sights. Married Billy Ray Hibdon on June 5, 1953. Of this marriage was born two children, Michael Ray Hibdon, Born: June 15, 1954, Neva Jean Hibdon-Ruiz, Born: January 21, 1958.
Doris worked at J.C. Penney's in Austin, Texas (Highland Mall), for more than 25+ years. She sold Furniture, Appliances, custom Draperies, and Carpet, even winning awards for the Top Sells Person. She would retire from J.C. Penney's, and go to work for WalMart as a Door Greeter. Until her health wouldn't allow her to work any longer. She suffered a massive heart attack, had to have 5 way bypass surgery. Fully recovered from the bypass. She even moved into an apartment, too show her independence. She was a stubborn lady, with a very honed personality! On her Birthday July 28, 2001, at her own Birthday Party, she fell and broke her hip at the waters edge of Lake Travis in Lago Vista, Texas. She once again fully recovered from the hip surgery. Continued to live on her own, in her apartment. Until one morning she was getting ready for her weekly shopping trip, again she fell and broke her other hip. This was alittle more than Mom could handle. It was extremely difficult to use her walker. She was moved into a Nursing Home in Marble Falls, Texas. Where she received constant care. She was happy living in the Nursing Home in Marble Falls. However, On October 11, 2007, she suffered a left temporial stroke, which left her unable to speak, walk, and even eating was a struggle. She would blink twice for "Yes" and once for "No".....
On December 23, 2007 she went into respiratory failure, and complication of dementia. She pasted away at 5:00a.m. on that day. We lost the very best mother any one could have ask for. She shared everything with her family & friends. She loved being around her family & friends. She is missed greatly!
