The Correctionville News, 7 June 1962, page 1: Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer (Velma) Sadler were held Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at the Rock Branch Methodist Church with Rev. Merlin Dayles officiating. Anita Harrison and Denise Kuchel sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Ivory Palaces" accompanied by Mrs. Max Flathers, organist. Pallbearers were Max Flathers, Gerald Yockey, Gene Barth, Ralph Wilcox, Percy Wetrosky and Duane Carrington. Burial was in the Rock Branch Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Funeral Home. Mrs. Sadler was born January 20, 1900, near Correctionville. She was married to Mr. Sadler February 5, 1920, at Rapids City, South Dakota. Survivors include the widower, a son, Gordon of Phoenix, Arizona, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Sadler of Correctionville and Mrs. Lydia Rogers of St. Paul, Minnesota, and two grandchildren.
