WASHINGTON RICE PASSES AWAY AT HOME ON
YOUNG STREET-SUFFERED STROKE OF PARALYSIS
DECEMBER 21.
Washington Rice, 69, passed away at his home on Young St. at 2:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. He had been in failing health for several years and suffered a stroke of paralysis on December 21. Since that time he has sustained several lighter strokes and had never been able to rally from their effects.
He is survived by his wife, Annis Rice and four children. The children are Henry Rice and Mrs. Anna[Wilbur]Frantom, of Troy Ohio, Mrs.Emma J. Reeder of West Sonora, and Mrs. Ruth[Charles]Meyer of Piqua. One brother William Rice of Ky and 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Rice was a member of the First Baptist Church. Fraternally he was affiliated with the Odd Fellow lodge, the Canton Miami and the Rebeccas.
Washington was a retired laborer.
