MITCHELL, Virginia Mamie (Boetticher) 80, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in her residence. She was born on September 23, 1930, in Beallsville, Ohio, the daughter of Garrett and Margaret (Smith) Boetticher. Mrs. Mitchell worked for many years in the Northwestern School System as the kitchen and food supervisor. She enjoyed getting together with the neighborhood women to share her talents in sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Mitchell also loved to travel in the western United States. She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Ralph, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Mark and Imelda Mitchell of Urbana, Wes Mitchell of Springfield; one daughter, Gail Jaraki of Michigan; two grandchildren: Andrea and Lee Mitchell, five sisters: Mona Louderback of Xenia, Patti Bowen, Connie Hamilton both of South Charleston, Norma Randolph and Linda Boetticher of Florida; two brothers: Buck Boetticher of Springfield, and Larry Boetticher of South Vienna, special cousin, Gene Rose of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Julie Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Ila Johnson and Arlis Walters; and one brother, Gerald Boetticher. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am with Reverend Carol Gesalman officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Mercy Hospice, 414 W. Harding Rd., Springfield, OH 45504 or the Springfield Regional Cancer Center, 148 W. North St., Springfield, OH 45504. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to caregivers at the Springfield Regional Cancer Center; Amy, Carol, Brenda, and Dr. Ravi Khana; and also special appreciation to staff members of Community Mercy Hospice, especially, Julie and Diane.
