Marjorie Drugg, 92, formerly of Forest City, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Forest City, with Pastor Jerald Swanberg officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service.

Marjorie Genevieve Drugg was born on a farm in rural Kiester, Minn., on March 6, 1918, the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Hedberg) Peterson. Her twin sister was stillborn. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by her grandfather, the Rev. John Hedberg. She received her education in rural school near her home and graduated from Kiester High School. For a short time she worked caring for mothers and their newborn infants in family homes. Marjorie was united in marriage to Leslie Drugg on April 1, 1940. The couple farmed in the Forest City area all their lives, settling on a home place north of Forest City in 1946.

Marjorie loved her church and was an active member, singing in the choir and serving in Circle. For many years she kept a big garden and sold eggs. She loved music, was an avid reader and enjoyed a good political discussion. In 2000 she moved to be with her daughter in Ostrander. In 2008 she became a resident of the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow. She died there on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the age of 92 years.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Elaine Elit of Ostrander, and David (Susan) Drugg of Apple Valley, Minn.; six grandchildren, Brian Elit of Peyton, Colo., Wayne (Gina) Elit of Hanover, Minn., Erich Elit of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dawn Arnette (Darrell) Calhoun of Cedaredge, Colo., Jeffrey (Jamie) Drugg of St. Michael, Minn., and Matthew (Malorie) Drugg of Lakeville, Minn.; a sister, LaVonne (Robert) Baer of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 2 sisters-in-law, Janice Bartley of Colorado Springs, and Geraldine Peterson of Algona, Iowa; and brother-in-law Roger Drugg of Forest City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie; a sister Doris; and two brothers, Curtis and Russell.
