Birth year of 1733 is apx based on age at death. When I was gifted management of this Memorial, in Jan 2024, her date of birth was set at Mar. 5, 1731 in Norton, MA. I have changed it because, the Vital Record of Norton for the Abigail (Cobb), born Mar. 5, 1731 is: "Cobb, Abigail, ch. Benjamen and Mary, Mar. 5, 1731-2." She is not this Abigail (Cobb) Andrews. (The dau. of Benjamin Cobb, Abigail (Cobb) Babbitt married Nathan Babbitt in 1752 ). Said Abigail (Cobb) Babbitt, is actually the 1st cousin of this Abigail (Cobb) Andrews, as their fathers, Thomas and Benjamin Cobb are brothers, the sons of Morgan Cobb.

Another Source: "History of Taunton, Massachusetts: From Its Settlement to the Present Time" by Emery, Samuel Hopkins. (D. Mason & Co., Taunton, Mass., 1893), pg. 375, states that Abigail (Cobb) Andrews, the wife of Samuel Andrews, was the dau. of Capt. Thomas Cobb, and sister of Sarah (Cobb) Paine . There is no Memorial as of Jan 25, 2024, for said Father, Thomas Cobb. His wife was Lydia (Leonard) Cobb , Her father is reputed by some to have married Lydia Leonard in 1737 or 1738, but children born prior this union are also attributed to them. My opinion is that something is off with that marriage date, and it seems more likely that it could have been in 1727. VR of marriage not found, and I don't see a vital record cited in the places I have seen the late marriage date. Therefore until proven otherwise, I am assuming a marriage date of 1727/8 is more probable and going with the sources that say Abigail (Leonard) Cobb is her Mother. Please provide source info if you have other information.

Update: Thomas Cobb died May 7, 1779 in Taunton, MA. His will confirms that Abigail Andrews is his daughter.
