James Roy Lokey, age 89, of Slocum, Texas died October 22, 2010 at his residence. Burial at Strong's Memorial Park Cemetery is under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home of Palestine, Texas. He was born September 16, 1921 in Anderson County to Owen Murray and Lassie Lancaster Lokey. Mr. Lokey was a retired CM Sgt. from the U.S. Air Force with over 30 years of service. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was the cemetery director for Strong's Memorial Park for many years. Mr. Lokey was a member of the Slocum Union Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Margie Smith; sisters, Babe Shelton, T.D. Lightfoot, and Margaret Box; brothers, Don Lokey, and Jack Lokey. He is survived by his wife Myrel Denson Lokey; daughters, Martha Hart and husband David, Linda Musick and husband Mike, and Bonnie Tynes and husband Bill; twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
