Galen was the son of Octa and Shirley. He was twelve years old and in the sixth grade. He was very interested in farming and helped his father much by running the tractor and milking the cows. Galen liked horses and sheep and especially enjoyed looking after the little lambs. He also liked to drive the car when his folks were with him. Galen was one of 45 people killed in the bombing of his school by a disgruntled employee. This remains as the worst attack on a school in the history of the United States.
