Lula May Anderton Sreaves was born on 26 October 1896 to James Pleasant "Ples" Anderton and Rosa Emma Sooter Anderton. She married William Jesse "Jess" Sreaves on 20 August 1921 and never left his side. Lula was a homemaker, Mother and Grandma, but she worked beside her husband as much as she could. She gave birth to 1 daughter, Mary Rosa, and 3 sons, William Ray, Roy Jackson, and Marvin Wayne. They raised their children in a Christian home. Their daughter was a respected school teacher & homemaker and all three of their sons were in the military. She lost her husband and best friend on 11 June 1956. She never remarried. They had 8 granddaughters and 1 grandson and many great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and had many favorites requested at family gatherings. She loved gardening, growing flowers, and sewing. She loved her grandchildren and loved getting visitors. Except for the last years of her life, she lived in McDonald County in Missouri. She became ill and died on May 12, 1983, at the age of 86 in Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma. She was and is sorely missed.
