From the Hendricks County Flyer for Nov. 20, 1995:

Nesbert C. Brown, 98, died Nov. 16, 1995 at the Brownsburg Health Care Center in Brownsburg. He was born Aug. 13, 1897 in Advance to Eli and Sallie J. Brown. He married Fern Whorley. She died in 1948.

Mr. Brown was a lifetime farmer and livestock dealer retiring in 1980. He served on the Board of Directors of the State Bank of Lizton from 1940-1991, serving as chairman of the Board from 1962-1982. He had been a director emeritus since 1991. He was a member of the Dover Christian Church, the Lizton American Legion Post and was a 50-year member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite and the Pittsboro Masonic Lodge. He was a World War I veteran.

Survivors include a son, John R. Brown, of Lizton; two daughters, Rose Brown of Lizton and Winifred Young of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Nov. 20 at the Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with Rev. Linda Kallock officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
