Opal B. Woods, 80, a lifelong resident of Ridgway, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with the Rev. Peggy Winters officiating. Burial wil be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Ridgway to the late Henry and Minnie (Payne) Sauls. She married Corbett Woods, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Ray (Dianne) Woods of Norris City, Deon (Janet) Woods of Omaha and Dickie (Trisha) Woods of Ridgway; a daughter, Darlene (Edward) Brown of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, Dee Dee Downs, Debra Davis, Leon Woods, Corbett Woods, Kathy Williams, Edward Lee Brown, Kathy Knapp and Brett Brown; and six great-grandchildren
