Albert's father was a veteran of the Civil War. He enlisted in Co C 21st Wisconsin Infantry and transferred to Co C 3rd Wisconsin Infantry. He mustered out in 1865 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Albert and his older brother Charles were both born in Wisconsin. They died within a month of each other in 1876 in Sarpy County. After their death, the parents moved to Pierce County, Washington. Albert's father died in 1910 in Pierce County at about age 65 years. His mother remarried (Peckham) and died in Pierce County at the age of 83 years. Albert and his brother, Charles, were their only children.
