Suggested edit: Some years ago I suggested corrections for many errors on this site (primarily Jane's parents) and others connected to the Brown family, and these corrections were rejected by the page manager. I am of that Brown family and have many proofs of the true facts. I have trusted Find a Grave for research on other Virginia families, and feel it is important that these facts be corrected. Jane Hammond Brown (1803-1879), the daughter of William Brown (eldest brother of Thomas of Florida) and Jane Hammond is buried in Charlestown near her husband Humphrey and her 1/2 brother Thomas Augustus Brown who married Annie Washington. Jane's father William and his brother James Brown moved to Charlestown from Westmoreland County at the end of the 19th c.
