Mr. Mathena was born Dec. 26, 1950, in White County, to Terry and Sally Mathena.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Mathena was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Knowles, of Sparta
Funeral service was graveside, at 11 a.m., Oct. 19, 2010, at Highland Cemetery. Robert Wright officiated.
