Estherville – Services for Mrs. Hazel Allen, 80, Estherville, were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel here. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen succumbed Friday [December 3, 1976] at the Good Samaritan Center here.
Born Oct. 3, 1887, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Tone, at Spirit Lake, Mrs. Allen received her education in Estherville Schools. She married Arthur H. Kateley in 1906 at Estherville and, following his death in 1956, married Lloyd Allen in 1959 at Des Moines. She lived most of her life in Estherville.
She was a member of the Estherville Presbyterian Church, the Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors, Rock Island Club and Emmet County Historical Society.
Mrs. Allen is survived by one son, Tone Kateley, Estherville, one daughter, Mrs. Quentin (Leontine) Hill, Des Moines; two step-daughters, Mrs. Maurice Ringham, Estherville, and Mrs. Kurt Rockne, Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Iva Kulhany, Florida. She was preceded in death by both husbands, one son and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 6, 1976)
