Luther B. McGee, 86, 1330 Old Main, died this morning at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.

He was born Oct. 2, 1887 in Tennessee, the son of William and Ida Copeland McGee. He married Bertha J. Parker, April 23, 1911 in Admore, Okla. The couple had resided in Newton since 1925.

Mr.McGee was former owner of McGee-Perry Wholesale Co. here for many years and since his retirement has been employed as a caretaker for Goering Kennels.

He was a former member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church and a member of Newton Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include the widow of the home; two sons, Ival C. and Leo B. both of Fort Smith, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. Estella Perry, Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Virgie) White and Mrs. Minnie Purcer, both of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Fred Spinder officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
