Samuel served as a private in the French and Indian War. He was a Lieutenant in the expedition against Port Royal in 1710, later promoted to Captain. He died about 1768.
"Before his marriage to Priscilla Hill, Samuel Gookin (1683-1768) had a natural son by Bethiah Grover of Watertown.
