On Jan. 1, 1866, she was married to Ignatius Shuman. To this union five children were born. The father and two children preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss, John T. of Williamstown, Otha of St. Patrick, and Mrs. Frankie Marsot of Williamstown; seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers, namely: W. A. McDermott of Modesta, Cal.; E. J. McDermott of Canton; C. P. and T. R. McDermott of Derrahs; Mrs. John P. Gilsan of Canton, and Miss Annie of St. Patrick, who was her faithful nurse and companion during her long illness. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic church, from which place her funeral was held by Rev. D. P. Mulcahy Wednesday morning. It can be truly said of Aunt Nan as she was called by all, none knew her but to love her. None named her but to praise her. Our mother slumbers sweetly within her silent grave.
