Albie F. Waples, 90, Kahoka, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1980 at 5 a.m. at Keokuk Area Hospital. The son of Frank and Sarah Jane Crooks Waples, he was born in Clark County on Sept. 17, 1890. He married Lelah Emma Bick at Kahoka on Nov. 12, 1913 and she died Nov. 28, 1968. Waples was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by one son: Everett L. Waples of Helena, Mont.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers: Willie and Monroe; and three sisters: Bertha Ferguson, Lutie Neumann and Elsie Banks. Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. at Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Ray officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Organist was Margaret Davis and soloist Ronda McWilliams. Pallbearers were Lester Kirchner, Fred McCollister, Glenn Hunziker Jr., C. G. Waples, Everett Boltz and Ronnie Creger. Arrangements by Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home.
