Walter Riney, 80, passed away at his home near Litchfield, Ky., November 11, 1967, after a long illness. He was born January 21, 1887 near St. Patrick, the son of Edwin and Sarah Owsley Riney. He was married to Mary Ellen (Nellis) Marcus, who passed away in 1937. Eight children were born to this union. They lived near St. Patrick for many years and reared their family there. One son, Carl was killed in World War II; three babies died in infancy. In 1945 he was married to Mary Waters who survives. Other survivors are three sons, Herman of Coneyville, Ky.; Charles of Bonaparte, Iowa, Bernard of Warsaw, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Geo. (Margaret) Winters of Kahoka, Mo.; two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. J. A. Evans of Hannibal, numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary was held Sunday evening at 7:00 at the funeral chapel. Services at St. Joseph Catholic church at Litchfield, Ky. Burial at Hope Well cemetery.
