A lifelong native of Clay County, NC, she was very active in the Ladies Ministry and a member of the Shooting Creek Church of God in Hayesville, NC. She had worked for 18 years as a cook with Clay County School Cafeteria and several years at Burnett Poultry in the preparation hatchery. She enjoyed caring for her flowers. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Nora Bell Hogsed Burrell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Foster; a son, Roy Foster Jr.; four brothers, Royal, Wymer, Paul and Jay Burrell and two sisters, Lacey Spivey and Maude Gibby.
She is survived by her husband, Climpson Maney; a daughter, Linda Russell and her husband, Keith of Cartersville, GA; two step daughters, Barbara Jean Gribble and her husband, Tommy of Hayesville, NC and Anna Dean Penland and her husband, David of Hiawassee, GA; a step son, Ronnie Maney and his wife, Mary of Hayesville, NC; a sister, Opal Barringer of Texas; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Shooting Creek Church of God. Rev. Eddie Brewer will officiate. Interment will be in the Meadow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Maney, Rex Maney, Henry Jenkins, Josh Parker Harold Dean Parker and Randy Penland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC where Mrs. Maney will remain until placed in the Church thirty minutes prior to the service hour.
