A Poem for Paul Written by Rita Steiner

Paul

He was a young man nearly seventeen,
When God made His call.
It came to us as a surprise,
For we still needed our good friend,
Paul.
In the eyes of our Lord
His life must have been complete.
He experienced many victories
And always conquered defeat.
He had lived a full life,
If only in a few years.
And now we realize how great he was
During this solemn time of tears.
Paul made us happy,
Found a smile we didn't know was there,
And gave ushope in time of depression.
He always made the burden easier to bear.
He was always smiling.
It was seldom you would see him frown.
Through all the heartaches,
Paul was voted "Class Clown."
It takes a special kind of person
To be everyone's friend,
And Paul had the knack
For helping old wounds to mend.
He was always carefree,
Not because he didn't care,
But he had a big heart
That he wanted to share.
He wanted us all to be happy,
Enjoy life and have fun!
Even if it were raining
Paul would find the sun.
He left us very suddenly
And we were not prepared,
But Paul knew deep down inside
How much we all cared.
His life now will be much easier
As he lives with God above.
His duty on earth much have been
To show us all how to love.
